About Counta
Our mission is to transform local trade by bringing community-based trust into the digital age.
Our Story
Counta was born from a simple observation: in many communities across Nigeria, local trade has always been built on relationships and trust, not paperwork and formal systems.
We saw how local vendors knew their customers by name, extended credit based on relationships, and built thriving businesses without formal banking. But we also saw the limitations: paper-based records, limited reach, and challenges in scaling.
Our founders asked: What if we could preserve the human connection and trust that makes local trade work, while adding the efficiency and reach of digital technology?
That's how Counta was born - a digital platform that doesn't replace the community-based trust system, but enhances it with technology.
Our Vision
A world where local trade is powered by community trust and enhanced by technology, creating stronger, more resilient local economies.
Our Values
Community First
We believe in the power of community connections and build technology that strengthens, not replaces, these bonds.
